The Dartmouth Aires
Date: February 25, 2012
Time: 7:30 PM - 8:45 PM
Event Description
On February 25, 2012 at 7:30 pm, the Chorus of Westerly will present the second concert on its Collegiate Concert Series with a performance by the hit group The Dartmouth Aires in the George Kent Performance Hall. Launched last year with a sold-out concert featuring The Whiffenpoofs of Yale, the Aires (featured on NBC's The Sing Off) will come to Kent Hall for a special performance of a cappella hits. Founded in 1946 as an off shoot of the Dartmouth Glee Club, the sixteen member Aires are Dartmouth College's oldest a cappella group and have become one of the nation's most recognized all-male collegiate a cappella groups.
For its Westerly appearance, the Aires will present a 70-minute performance that includes a diverse selection of songs from the past four decades in the historic George Kent Performance Hall. The performance will be accessible to all ages and musical backgrounds. Families, children, and teenagers are encouraged to attend.
